A familiar face will appear in the upcoming TV series of the CW Network titled “Significant Mother.” Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic, who portrays Kol Mikaelson in CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” series, is back on the CW Network to portray character Jimmy Barnes in the new comedy series.

In an exclusive Entertainment Weekly report, the first look on “Significant Mother” features the show’s cast members Buzolic, Josh Zuckerman and Krista Allen. Zuckerman portrays Nate Marlowe in the series and Krista Allen portrays Lydia Marlowe, Nate’s mother.

The storyline of “Significant Mother” will centre on Zuckerman's Nate returning home from a business trip only to discover his friend Jimmy, played by Buzolic, and his mother have fallen in love with each other. Then Nate’s level of awkwardness begins to escalate when his dad Harrison Marlowe, played by Jonathan Silverman, enters the picture hoping to reunite with his mother.

Meanwhile, Buzolic could also return as Kol Mikaelson in the upcoming “The Originals” Season 3. According to an EW report, Kol’s appearance in the supernatural CW TV series has been teased at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con.

“The Originals” executive producer Michael Narducci explained that the Mikaelson family has been around a thousand years and have sired vampires. He added that the series will tackle what these sired vampires think about the Mikaelson family's continued existence. Series creator Julie Plec shared that fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the entire Original family in “The Originals” Season 3.

Plec revealed that the flashback scenes will be approximately 10 years after the Mikaelsons were turned into vampires to show the kind of life the family had at that time when they were still getting used to the transformation. Kol’s return to the present time could also happen through “The Originals” characters Davina Claire, played by Danielle Campbell, and Rebekah Mikaelson, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers.

In “The Originals” Season 2, episode 14 titled “I Love You, Goodbye,” Rebekah promised Kol before he died that she would find a way to resurrect him. Davina agreed to help with Rebekah’s plan.

In the meantime, watch Buzolic as Jimmy Barnes in “Significant Mother.” The new comedy TV series is scheduled to premiere on Monday night, Aug. 3, at 9:30/8:30c on the CW Network.
