On May 10, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) revealed that its Kepler Space Telescope verified the existence of 1,284 new planets, dashing hopes it would instead confirm the existence of extraterrestrial life. However, NASA Administrator Major Charles Bolden told British school children last week that aliens exist, but the US government is not hiding them in Area 51 in Nevada.

But Bolden’s answer should not be a reason for UFOlogists to jump to conclusion that NASA has confirmed the existence of aliens. Rather, Bolden replied to the question of 10-year-old Carmen Dearing, “I do believe that we will someday find other forms of life or a form of life, if not in our solar system then in some of the other solar systems – the billions of solar systems in the universe,” quotes The Telegraph.

At the same time, Bolden confirmed the existence of Area 51 at the Nevada desert which many people believe has some evidence of alien life form that the US government is allegedly suppressing. He stresses Area 51 is a normal research and development facility.

“I never saw any aliens or alien spacecraft or anything when I was there,” Bolden states. He explains the common belief that Area 51 harbours extraterrestrials to the secrecy behind aeronautics research.

According to documents released in 2013 by the CIA under a Freedom of Information request, the intelligence agency used Area 51 as an aerial gunnery for the Army Air Corp pilots during World War II. Former US President Dwight Eisenhower eventually approved the land’s use as a test site for the Atomic Energy Commissions Nevada and was where the U-2 spy plane was developed and pilots trained on its use.

Although conspiracy theorists have long been accusing Washington of hiding the truth about alleged proof of alien life hidden in Area 51, the issue was fueled again in early June. Techworm reports that an alleged whistleblower claims to have helped reverse-engineer an alien technology.

The tech website names Bill Uhouse, an engineer who claims having worked from 1966 through 1979 at the facility, where an alleged Grey alien named “J-Rod” built a flight simulator for Air Force pilots. Uhouse, who died in 2009, claims “J-Rod” piloted an alien UFO that allegedly crashed and was stored secretly at Area 51.
