After over a decade, “Naruto Shippuden” is likely coming to an end after 500 episodes and 720 instalments. The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine hinted that the finale of the anime series could be happening on March 23, in which Tsunade will visit Konoha.

Promo clip for the series shows Tsunade dropping by to visit Naruto. Tsunade is a member of the Senju Clan and a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan of Konohagakure. It looks like she is not going to miss the wedding of Naruto and Hinata. For several fans, the appearance of Tsunade in what appears to be the final episode of the long-running series would be a delight as her presence has been scarce since Kaguya's defeat.

Naruto fans can recall that at first, Tsunade’s treatment of Naruto was cold as she was then cynical of anyone with dreams, particularly those who want to become Hokage. But eventually, she has come to care for the anime series’ titular character.

She would always express his admiration towards Naruto, saying he is a great ninja and should be used by the village as any other ninja would be. In the 500th episode of the show, it would be nice to see the two characters reunite. The series’ finale, however, is not yet officially confirmed by its creator or anyone behind it.

Meanwhile, fans would be delighted to know that “Boruto: Next Generations” is all to air on Tokyo TV. It is a Naruto spinoff series that will centre on the next generation. Boruto, the son of Naruto, is believed to be the seventh hokage.

The spinoff series will reportedly be more fun and even better than its predecessor. Manga creator Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of both series, has previously shared his plans for the sequel. “I plan to make it even better than Naruto,” he said during a stage event at the Jump Festa event last year. Comicbook notes that the sequel will feature an original story not featured in any novel or manga.

Another great news for Naruto fans is that it will be adapted as a live-action movie. Michael Gracey was chosen to direct the film, which will reportedly focus on Naruto’s apprenticeship. Film company Lionsgate and Avi Arad, the same person behind “Ghost in the Shell,” will produce the live-action movie adaptation. “Boruto: Next Generations” release date in Australia is yet to be announced.
