Actress Renee Zellweger poses at the 21st annual ELLE Women in Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles, California
Renee Zellweger thinks fashion and styles of actresses in red carpet events are taken way more seriously than they should. She thinks fashion is half of the fun of these events and should be covered but said she could not see the point of criticising how female artists choose to express themselves. Naomi Watts recently defended fellow actress Renee Zellweger from the criticisms she received regarding her new look. In an interview Watts called on haters to leave the actress alone and also hinted she is pro-plastic surgery.

In her cover page interview for UK's In Style magazine, Naomi Watts revealed why she is not against plastic surgery in combatting old age. According to Mail Online, the 46-year old actress admitted she does not pass judgment on whoever decides to do plastic surgery.

"It's not easy watching yourself get older, but when I look at two women in their fifties or sixties or seventies side by side, one who's had surgery and one who hasn't, I think one likes themselves a lot more and one looks more dignified and graceful," she said. Mail Online supposed the actress is also not ruling out having plastic surgery herself when she said, "And I hope I get to stay being that woman."

Moreover, in her interview Watts admitted she was shocked at all the "cruel and unnecessary" comments directed at Renee Zellweger's new look. There was supposedly nothing wrong with her appearance except that she "looked great and amazing." In behalf of the "Jerry Maguire" actress, Naomi asked for people to "leave her alone."

Renee Zellweger made headlines in October when she showed up at the 2014 Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration looking very different. It was speculated she had plastic surgery to completely alter her facial appearance. However, the actress didn't exactly deny nor confirm she had gone under the knife to achieve her new look.

In an exclusive interview with People, the 45-year old claimed she credits the change to her "happy lifestyle." She didn't even mind the entire backlash and was even glad that people noticed her new look. Rene Zellweger admitted that she's "living a different, happy, more fulfilling life" and supposed that it shows on her face. She even recalled her friends telling her she looks "peaceful and healthy." It was reportedly a matter of choosing different things that had her achieve her different look. In her interview the actress also claimed she learned to stop, recalibrate and pamper herself more.
