The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will be different this year. There is going to be a host this time, who has had a great history with MTV.

Miley Cyrus has announced on her Instagram that she will host the 2015 Video Music Awards on August 30. “F--- yeah VMAs!!!!!” Cyrus writes. “#VMAs on @MTV Aug 30 at 9pm,” she adds, along with her message. The pop star will be the award show’s first host since 2012 as MTV has let the VMA's run without a host since last two years. “The Wedding Ringer” actor Kevin Hart last hosted the VMA's in 2012.

Cyrus also took a dig at the music channel with a picture where she is holding a placard that reads, "MTV won't let me perform." In an another picture, the singer shows her face wearing a green funny outfit and holds a message that reads, "So I'm hosting this year's VMAs!"

Cyrus and MTV VMA's share an interesting history. The 22-year-old singer first became famous when she gave a controversial performance at the 2013 VMA's with Robin Thicke. The singer was dressed in a latex, skin-coloured two piece when she came on stage and twerked on Thicke's crotch. During the 2014 VMA's, Cyrus however projected a very different image of her to the world. She not only refused to accept her Video Of The Year VMA trophy but used this opportunity to highlight the issue of homeless youth.

Meanwhile, MTV has also come out with a list of nominees for their awards. “Bad Blood” singer Taylor Swift leads the nominations with nine categories, followed by her pal Ed Sheeran, who is up for has six nominations, MTV writes.
