In a tragic incident, reality TV star Diem Brown succumbed to cancer and died on Friday in New York. The star was only 32.

Brown gained fame through an MTV show called 'Real World/Road Rules Challenge'. MTV released an official statement confirming the same. "Diem was a true fighter and brought passion to everything she touched," the channel shared.

Brown first revealed her condition in 2006 in a reality show called 'Fresh Meat', where she confessed that she had ovarian cancer, as told by Reuters. The star undertook medical treatment in the form of surgery and chemotherapy after which she again made appearance in another reality show 'The Duel'.

The star never showed any signs of slowing down. After having an ovary, several lymph nodes and part of a fallopian tube removed to treat her cancer, Brown still took off for Australia to take part in MTV's 'Real World/Road Rules Challenge', as told by People Magazine.

The symptoms showed their ugly head again in 2012, when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and recently with colon cancer as well. The star showed immense courage by counseling other younger cancer patients. During that period, she hosted an MTV.com special for other cancer patients and founded a gift registry site for people undergoing medical sufferings.

Despite being in great physical and mental suffering herself, the star took immense efforts to create awareness by blogging her experience with People Magazine and establishing the organization MedGift for those facing similar situations.

Recently, she was admitted to the hospital as the cancer found in her colon had spread to her liver and lymph nodes. As her condition deteriorated, friends and family had gathered at her bedside at the New York City Hospital this week. On Nov. 11, the star sent a heart wrenching tweet clearly reflecting her desire to live.

The star breathed her last at 10:22 a.m. in the hospital where she was surrounded by her father, brother, sister and father's fiancée after a priest led the serenity prayers.

I NEED PRAyErs and advice my doctors are seemingly giving up but I won't & can't rollover. Whatever option I have to LIVE I'm grabbing!
