“Mr Robot” season 3 is surely happening and it is only a matter of when. Reports say that the hit hacker drama series’ third run will premiere around June or as early as May this year. However, there is no word yet from producers or from the USA network about the official “Mr Robot” season 3 release date.

Nonetheless, “Mr Robot” is anticipated to return to the small screens this year. One of the storylines in the upcoming season is likely about Elliot (Rami Malek) demanding for an explanation from Angela (Portia Doubleday).

Show creator Sam Esmail has previously hinted about should be expected in “Mr Robot” season 3, saying Angela will have the spotlight. "You think she is going one way and then you realise she is actually going another. Now, she is part of this group we never would have expected,” Esmail told the Hollywood Reporter.

Those who have watched previous seasons of the show know that Elliot and Angela used to be good friends. But things have changed since the former has been shot and Angela showed no care about it. She thought Elliot getting hurt would inevitably happen.

At first, she seemed to have loyalty toward E Corp, otherwise known as Evil Corp. But on one hand, it appeared as if she was actually bringing Elliot’s team down. Next season, it would be interesting to see which direction she is next heading to.

“Mr Robot” season 2 viewers were surprised when Angela has chosen to be on the side of Whiterose (BD Wong). Angela used to be very loyal to Elliot, but her conversation with Whiterose had easily changed her mind and loyalty.

Viewers were left wondering what Whiterose may have told Angela to change her mind. Whatever that was, the details of their conversation and their real connection are expected to be exposed in “Mr Robot” season 3.

It will be interesting to see what pushed Angela to become a member of Dark Army. Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer) and Whiterose must have done something to influence her to join their team. “Mr Robot” showrunner is mum about this theory.

Meanwhile, the series creator has praised Doubleday for her ability to keep the viewers on their toes. He said the actress plays her role in such an exquisite fashion. Doubleday has also appeared in the 2009 film “Youth in Revolt” as Sheeni Saunders. She has also portrayed the role of Jasmine Lee in “Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son.”

“Mr Robot” season 2 aired on Showcase in Australia. Official air date for the third season is expected to be announced in the near future.
