Motorola has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Moto X (2014) in Europe and few Latin American carrier channels. The company has also started full deployment of the firmware to Moto X Style (3rd Gen) and 2015 Moto X Force in select regions.

A report in GSM Arena suggests that Motorola has started rolling out the update in Australia on Telstra. The roll-out in Australia comes as a surprise. Initially the company mentioned that the Marshmallow update for 2014 Moto X will only be available for users in Latin America, Canada, Europe and Asia.

However, last week, Motorola’s David Schuster confirmed on Google+ that the company has commenced soak testing the firmware for the second generation of Moto X (2014) in more than 20 countries including Australia and India.

The firmware weighs 884 MB and updates software version to 24.11.18. The users are expected to receive a push notification for installing the update. If not, they can also hit Settings> System updates> check for updates. The Marshmallow update will bring in new features including Doze mode, Android Pay, Apps permission, Google Now on Tap and Direct Share as well as performance improvements.

Schuster updated his Google+ profile and confirmed that the company has also started full deployment of the latest version of Android for 2015 Moto X Style (3rd Gen) in Europe and select Latin American carriers; 2015 Moto X Force in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

Recently, Motorola also updated its list of devices getting Marshmallow update. The list now includes Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2 and 2015 Moto E (2nd Gen) with 4G LTE. To complement with the latest operating system, the company would remove its Moto Assist as it replicates the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature of Marshmallow.
