Motorola X Style users in India can rejoice. The company has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the smartphone.

Motorola insisted its phones remain connected to a Wi-Fi network and remain juiced-up at least 50 percent while installing the update. The new update will bring a host of improvements, including the doze mode, app standby, expandable storage, app permission, volume controls, do not disturb (DND), now on tap and direct share, said Motorola in a release note.

Doze mode and app standby will considerably improve battery life. Google Now on Tap will provide contextual results while memory and RAM manager will provide better ulitisation of space and app permission. App backup will bring in more control of the device.

As a part of the Marshmallow update, the company will remove Moto Assist which is similar to DND. Moreover, the latest Android v6.0 already offers automatic data backup facility, which duplicates Motorola Migrate. Thus, the company has also decided to retire Motorola Migrate on devices running Android Marshmallow.

The Attentive Display feature of Marshmallow, which runs in battery saver mode, has been integrated with Moto Actions. In Android M, Motorola also removed Ambient Display from Moto Display. The company confirmed it’s also retiring the Google Chrome extension found in Motorola Connect.

Last week, David Schuster, Senior Director , Software Product Management at Motorola revealed on Google+ that Moto X Style (3rd Gen) will start receiving the Android v6.0 update in both Brazil and India whereas the Moto X (2nd Gen) will be upgraded to Android Marshmallow in Brazil.

He also mentioned that Moto MAXX, Moto Turbo, and Droid Turbo will be upgraded to Marshmallow. Schuster confirmed that 2013 Moto X (1st Gen), Moto G (1st Gen), Moto E (1st Gen) and Moto G with LTE (1st Gen) will remain on Lollipop 5.1.
