Motorola Droid Turbo vs. Sony Xperia Z3

These two smartphones are high-powered models equipped with fast processors, latest battery technology and Android OS. Here are comparisons between the two devices' camera, battery and durability.

Droid Turbo can quickly launch its camera by a simple flick of the wrist, while pressing on the dedicated camera button on Xperia Z3 opens the camera app. Both are capable of recording videos at 4K resolution and slow motion captures.

According to Motorola, users can order the Droid Turbo to take selfie shots by using a voice command while Xperia Z3 can capture more subjects under one frame using its 25 mm wide-angle lens.

2. Battery life on both devices can reach up to two days depending on the degree of usage. Sony Xperia Z3 uses Ultra STAMINA mode with Extended Usage mode to further extend battery life even in use while Droid Turbo can bring an additional eight hours of battery life in just 15 minutes when recharging with the Motorola Turbo Charger. Droid Turbo has 3900 mAh battery pack while Xperia Z3 carries a 3100 mAh battery unit.

A Droid Turbo model can either have a Premium Ballistic Nylon or a Metallised Glass Fibre with Kevlar coating for increased durability and water-repellent nanocoating on the display to provide protection against spills and sudden downpour. Xperia Z3 has IP 65/68 rating that provides protection against ingress of dust and water-resistance for up to 30 minutes within 1.5 metres of freshwater.

Motorola Droid Turbo will become available on Oct. 30 with full retail price of $599. Verizon Wireless is also selling Sony Xperia Z3v at $599 full retail price with Qi Wireless charging.
