Moto X And Moto E Android 5.1 Lollipop Status

Android 5.1 Lollipop software update is now available for Moto X and Moto E smartphones. Motorola posted the latest software version Android 5.1 Lollipop for Moto X first second generation, Moto X second generation AT&T and T-Mobile and second generation Moto E. According to the software webpages of these smartphones, Motorola improved a variety of functionality and fixes different bugs.

Both Moto X second generation AT&T and T-Mobile received improvements to Notifications and Interruptions, swiping up option to remove Heads-Up notification from the screen, new pull-down menu for different Wi-Fi access points or different paired Bluetooth devices at the Quick Settings, chop twice gesture to turn on the flashlight without waking or unlocking the device and Android Runtime performance upgrade for faster loading of applications. In addition, several bugs such as unable to delete SMS when the SIM card is full, no ringer audio while making an outgoing call, Chrome crashes upon launch and frequent restarts while watching Netflix have been fixed.

Moto X first generation on the other hand received similar improvements to the Moto X second generation. Android 5.1 Lollipop software brings Material Design, upgrades for the Notifications UI and Priorities, New Interruptions and Downtime settings, Recent Apps or Multitasking, Moto services, Battery settings and more. Motorola also added the Android Runtime for optimised app performance and smarter Internet connections that improves hand-offs between Wi-Fi and cellular connections.

Android 5.1 Lollipop for Moto E second generation improves Notifications and Interruptions, Heads-Up Notifications, Quick Settings, adds Device Protection by locking the device once lost or stolen and Android Runtime for faster launching of apps. Moreover, the new software includes several bug fixes for SMS, Calculator, Chrome and various functionalities.

Other Possible Eligible Devices For Android 5.1 Lollipop Upgrade

Moto G smartphone is expected to receive Android 5.1 Lollipop since the second generation T-Mobile variant has been upgraded already to Android 5.0 version according to Motorola’s software support page. Motorola Droid models such as Droid Turbo, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini are eligible for Android 5.1 but based on details at the company’s site, Android 5.0 Lollipop is delayed because of partner pending status.
