Android 5.0 Lollipop Software Development

Nexus 6 is the first Motorola smartphone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop and the company plans to bring the next generation Android OS to more Moto devices. Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade plan is a part of the company's ongoing software strategy to provide fast updates to pure Android experience.

Android 5.0 Lollipop OS version is still under development and Motorola awaits the official launch from Google. Once released, Motorola will begin working with their technology and carrier partners to push out the update.

Ten devices from the latest set of releases from Motorola are confirmed to receive the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update. However, there is no announcement yet if the company plans to consider Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade on older devices such as RAZR.

The tenth device would be the upcoming Motorola Droid Turbo set to be released on Oct. 30 from Verizon Wireless. It is currently running Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS and expected to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop along with other Droids.
