After Miley Cyrus' "tasteless" performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Vogue's Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour decided not to push through with the December cover featuring the "We Can't Stop" singer. This is certainly one shot to the heart for Miley. Putting that aside, here are a few "tasteful" Vogue covers featuring Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart and more.

Miley's raunchy performance at the MTV VMAs certainly affected her career one way or another. Vogue's Editor-in-Chief initially decided to feature Miley Cyrus on the cover for December but cancelled the idea after watching Miley's sing and dance number at the VMAs. Wintour found the whole performance "tasteless" causing her to change her mind about Cyrus.

"Anna found the whole thing distasteful," says a source to The Daily Mail, adding, "She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

As for Miley, the bleached blonde singer didn't seem the least bit affected by the news. In fact, Miley went on to continue posting racy photos on her Instagram account over the weekend. The Vogue cover may not be deemed iconic for the "Wrecking Ball" singer but it certainly made a boost in the career of a few stars featured in the magazine.

Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Adele, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Gwen Stefani are just a few singers featured on the high fashion magazine. Hollywood "It" Girls, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart also had their Vogue covers which marked the peak of their career.

While losing the cover for Vogue may not seem like a big deal for Miley now, it would definitely be an eyesore for her if other stars such as Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez manage to grace Vogue and not her. Check out the slideshow to see some "tasteful" covers by Vogue magazine.
