Madonna's performance during the 2012 Super Bowl halftime was the thing that made everyone so excited about the entire event - even more than the games itself.

As the Super Bowl has always been one of the most important events in the history of television, it will surely be impossible to imagine it happen without the presence of all the glitter of celebrities and other special effects on stage.

With all these in mind, we take you to some of the most memorable moments of the Super Bowl history-- from boy bands like New Kids on the Block and up to the late King of Pop, plus of course, the celebrities spotted during the event.

The late King of Pop Michael Jackson was the special halftime performer way back in '93. It was grand then especially with all the fireworks but it's nothing now compared to the gigantic LCDs that embellished the show.

Newbie artists then, Enrique Iglesias and Christina Aguilera, both had the privilege to perform and sing together way back in 2000, the way Nicki Minaj became such a great artist to share the stage with for Madonna at present day.

It is only during the Super Bowl that the greatest collaborations and artists get to perform together for thousands of crowds just like in 2001 when Justin Timberlake shared the stage with Nelly, Britney Spears and of course the great Steven Tyler.

There were also amazing charitable tributes way back then just like in 2002 when it was U2 who was tasked to perform. They were there not just to make some music but also offer it to the victims of the Sept 11 tragedy.

These are just some of those highlighted moments that most of you, especially the ones older, would not forget about the run of Super Bowl. Check out the rest of the moments included before in the slideshow next!
