In New Orleans, there is St. Louis Cemetery, which ranked first in CNN's own list. This is very famous for many horror storytellers and writers since the place is filled with deep and haunting background. According to its many visitors, ghost sightings from the Civil War and the yellow fever patients were seen stalking through the crypts in the cemetery. The most popular spirit seen was reportedly the voodoo queen named Maria Laveau.

In Sydney, Australia, the Rockwood Cemetery is home to about a million dead bodies but set against the beautiful backdrop of Sydney. What does it have that give people the spooks? It is where the bodies of the popular yet notorious spiritualists lie named Davenport Brothers.

The Catacombs of Paris has always been listed as one of the most haunted places on Earth. Underneath is where millions of bones of dead French people stuck in limestone quarries between 1785 and 1800 were laid to rest.
