Marksman Kung Jin is already live as a challenge character in “Mortal Kombat X” mobile. Wondering if he’s worth getting? Here is a quick walkthrough to see what needs to be done and if he is a character worth getting.

The five Towers and necessary characters

The Marksman Kung Jin follows the standard format for all “Mortal Kombat X” mobile challenges. The first three towers will require Bronze only, Silver and Bronze only and Silver only characters in forming teams.

For the fourth Tower, the entire team need to be made up of Gold Outworld characters. The final Tower requires D’Vorah to be part of the team. The good thing about the challenge is that, for old players of the game, it adds a pretty good skin for Kung Jin. The bad news will be for newer players, as the requirements are a little harder to accomplish.

Marksman Kung Jin: Is he worth the challenge?

For older players of “Mortal Kombat X” mobile, he is a good additional character. His passive is the Ancestral Shot, where Kung Jin’s basic finishing arrow inflicts unique effects of Life Drain, Stun or Fire.

Marksman Kung Jin starts off with 850 Attack, 900 Health, 1,200 Toughness, 1,200 Recovery and 100 percent Power Generation. Granted, there already seems to be a proliferation of Kung Jin characters. There are two other Gold and one Silver.

However, when compared to the two other Gold Kung Jin characters, Marksman Kung Jin’s passive is stronger than Bojutsu Kung Jin. He is more of a standalone character in terms of his passive, because he can inflict damage with his passive while Shaolin Kung Jin will require other Martial Artist teammates for his passive to be of use.

New players: How to attempt to get him

For new players, getting Marksman Kung Jin may be something of a challenge. The fourth tier alone, which requires Gold Outworld characters to consist of the team is potentially the biggest challenge to date.

Fans who have just started will not likely have enough Souls obtain three Gold cards in a short time even with grinding. The smallest amount of Souls needed to get an Outworld character is 200 for Noxious Reptile. Others that are below 300 Souls include D’Vorah (220 Souls), Commando Kano (235 Souls), Blood God Kotal Kahn (250 Souls), Nimble Reptile (260 Souls), Spectral Ermac (275 Souls) and Venomous D’Vorah (280 Souls).

Of course, there are still a few days where players can grind through the game with regular log-ins and completion of the Daily Objectives. Some players can also go through the fifth Tier first to attain the 50 Souls reward, as well as the sporadic Soul rewards throughout the Tower.

Cutthroat Kano, the only Gold character that can be obtained using Koins, is also an Outworld character that can be used for the fourth tier. This can help newer players, as it is easier to grind for Koins than the more premium in-game currency Souls.
