Lily Collins proves yet again that she's the perfect choice for Clary Fray of "The Mortal Instruments." Not only does Collins share how she relates to Clary on all levels but her fashion sense is every bit of a "Shadowhunter." From outfits to everything Clary Fray, here is all Collins had to say.

"The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" gained a gross box office hit of $3 million on its debut. The numbers keep growing given the film is still set to premiere in a few countries across the globe. As of late, Collins along with Kevin Zegers and Jamie Campbell Bower are promoting the film in Mexico.

With the hype for film adaptations, what makes "The Mortal Instruments" different from the likes of "Twilight", "Harry Potter", "Hunger Games" and "Divergent?"

"I think ours has a comedic undertone that none of the other [franchises] have. We don't take ourselves too seriously," explains Collins, adding, "Also, we're telling a very real story that just happens to be taking place in a fantasy world. And the two worlds are married in a way that it almost doesn't matter because it's a very realistic situation that [protagonist] Clary finds herself in: she's trying to find her mother."

"The movie is all character and emotion-based. And romance doesn't define Clary. She's defined by the drama and the action and the emotional journey she goes on," continued Collins.

If anything else, Cassandra Clare chose Collins for the part of Clary Fray not only because she was a die-hard fan of the books but because she could personally relate to the character.

"I'm very close to my mom, so I'd like to think I'd do the same thing for my mom as Clary does for hers," states Collins.

"Also, I used to pitch talk show ideas when I was 15 or 16 years old and I got told 'no' so many times, and I'd always take it as, 'No, not right now.' When Clary gets told 'no,' she thinks, 'OK, you won't help me. but I'll find someone else who can,'" adds Lily.

Cassandra Clare and Constantin Films could have not chosen a better actress. Lily Collins is indeed Clary Fray not only in personality but in her fashion sense. Check out the slideshow to see more of Collins in her gorgeous red carpet premiere ensembles for "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones."
