"The Mortal Instruments" Lily Collins graces the cover of Girlfriend magazine for the fourth time in a row. In the August issue of Girlfriend magazine, Lily Collins and her co-stars talk about their latest film based on the best-selling novels written by Cassandra Clare. Collins also talks about her iconic character, Clary Fray.

Based on the novels written by Cassandra Clare, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is the first book in a series of six. The film adaptation of "City of Bones" is set to hit theatres nationwide by August 21, 2013. For those who still haven't heard of the books and the upcoming film adaptation, a short synopsis of "City of Bones" is as follows:

"When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder-much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing-not even a smear of blood-to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?"

"This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know."

Following in the steps of her BFF Jennifer Lawrence, Collins is set to portray the literature heroine in the books by name of Clary Fray. With her latest cover and interview for Girlfriend magazine, here's what Collins has to say about Fay.

"I think she feels like an outsider when she's first put in the company of shadowhunters. But the thing about her is she's determined not to feel like an outsider for too long," shared Lily, adding, "Clary tries to make the best of the situation, and that is how I am. She doesn't let herself be the victim. She doesn't wallow and I like that."

Aside from Lily Collins, Girlfriend magazine also sits down with Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan and Kevin Zeger.
