"Shadowhunters" are unlikely to hear updates on the highly anticipated sequel to "City of Bones", "City of Ashes" following the news of a delay in production. Of course, this set back hasn't hindered the career of "The Mortal Instruments'" lead stars. As for Jamie Campbell Bower, "TMI's" Jace Wayland is busy getting more tattoos. How many are there already and what do these tats signify?

The runes that Jamie Campbell Bower has for "The Mortal Instruments" are purely made up of which he had to endure for four hours. Unlike Lily Collins, Jamie's on and off screen love interest, who had to endure only an hour in hair and make up for the film, Jamie along with Jemima West and Kevin Zegers endured four hours for the runes alone.

"It's my own stupid fault that I'm sitting in a make up chair for like five hours! I've got conversations with the costume designer next week, so I think from now on they'll be a lot of long sleeves going on. It took about four hours to cover up my tattoos last time," stated Jamie.

While the runes wash off easily for Jamie, he's got other tats that are definitely permanent. Why exactly does Jamie have the penchant for such art?

"I quite like knowing that I'm still Jamie underneath all that at the end of the day. So that wherever I go I'm still me," explained Bower, adding, "Everyone has its own meaning - mostly film based."

As for how many tattoos Jamie has got done, there are quite a lot to mention.

"I have a chest tattoo, two arm and now fingers, back of my legs..." stated Jamie. Fans shouldn't forget the latest tattoo done on Jamie's right leg which is that of a rose. Would Jamie in anyway get a "Mortal Instruments" tattoo as well?

"I am getting a Mortal Instruments one when I go back to London, my guys in London are gonna do it for me. It's a quote, it says: 'I am after all, what you made me,' which I think is from the fifth book," said Lily Collins famous beau.
