"Shadowhunters" are ruling the box office hit following the release of "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." The film adaptation of Cassandra Clare's best-selling novels has managed to continuously be included in the US box office top ten beating the likes of "Getaway", "Kick Ass 2" and "The World's End."

Obviously, Jamie Campbell Bower's British charm as Jace Wayland in the movie has worked. Constantin Films' "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" remains to be in the top ten. In fact, it has managed to stick to the top three spot for weeks beating the likes of "Elysium." Before August ended, the top ten at the US Box Office is as follows:

However, following the release of "Elysium" and One Direction's "This Is Us", "TMI: City of Bones" dipped to the number 7 spot. Still, it managed to beat films such as "Getaway", "World's End" and "Kick Ass 2" plus reman in the top ten even on its fourth week.

While the $60 million earnings isn't enough to beat the income of "Hunger Games" opening week or "The Host," the money continues to roll in for "City of Bones." The sequel to the film, "City of Ashes" is already set to be filmed. Lily Collins reprises her role as Clary Fray and is once again joined by Robert Sheehan (Simon Lewis), Jamie Campbell Bower (Jace Wayland), Kevin Zegers (Alexander Lightwood) and Jemima West (Isabelle Lightwood).
