Season 6 of ABC's award-winning comedy series, "Modern Family" is slowly shaping up as plot twists are slowly being revealed and guests stars are being introduced in the days leading up to the airing of the premiere episode on Sept. 24. Apart from Steve Zahn and Andrea Anders who will be playing the Dunphys' neighbours from hell, it was revealed that Kristen Johnson of third rock from the sun will be making an appearance in the series.

TV Line announced that the "Third Rock From The Sun" actress will come in as a colleague from Mitch Pritchett's law firm who is going through a personal crisis. With the newlyweds straining to get their life in order and back to normal after their honeymoon stage, Cam decides to invite Johnson's character to spend the night at their house in an effort to help. According to further reports, Cam got more than he bargained for when he extended that invite when he learned exactly how down in the dumps the character really is.

Elsewhere in the season, more marital issues will have to dealt with. The newlyweds Cam and Mitch will have to deal with Cam's new post as varsity football coach. Cam's competitive and highly emotional nature as seen in previous seasons, will slowly make him crack under pressure. Seen as the team's savior, Cam feels the immense pressure to deliver a good performance and bring success for the team.

Meanwhile, over at the Delgado-Pritchett household, Gloria is taking offense at Jay's blatant disregard for his appearance and she tries to get her point across by refusing to fix herself up. ABC's season premiere preview shows a frumpy-looking Gloria who has messy hair and has skipped her usual sexy outfits for an oversized shirt and a pair of sweats.

Phil Dunphy on the other hand, will be needing to support his wife Claire as she is also faced with a lot of pressure from her father, Jay. She was working at Jay's office and now he is grooming her to take over the business once he retires. The couple also needs to support their over-achieving daughter Alex as she searches for the right college.

Season 6 of "Modern Family" will start airing on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
