The sixth season of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning series “Modern Family” is winding down to its last few episodes. As the series guns for a record-breaking sixth consecutive Emmy Award for “Best Comedy Series,” a recurring theme has prevailed in several episodes this season. Modern technology has played a big part in this season’s topics, most especially in the most recent episode titled “Connection Lost.” Episode 17 also tackles a high tech theme as the family deals with a drone that snoops on Gloria as she sunbathes by the pool. [Warning: Spoiler Alert!]

In “Connection Lost,” the entire episode played out on Claire Dunphy’s laptop. The unprecedented episode was shown entirely through the computer screen as Claire waited for her flight at Chicago’s O-Hare International Airport.

For episode 17 titled “Closet? You’ll Love It!,” ABC Medianet shares that there will be a battle between humans and machines. Apparently, Gloria is being pestered by a drone that has been spying on her as she sunbathes. The bombshell is a sight to behold in a bikini, but the men in her family are not too happy that a peeping Tom is taking advantage of the opportunity through his flying gadget. Phil Dunphy, along with his son Luke and Gloria’s son Manny, makes it his mission to bring down the drone and defend Gloria’s honour.

Meanwhile, Gloria’s husband Jay is busy with problems of his own. Jay runs a big closet empire, but any business has competitors. It turns out one of his biggest rivals has come out with a catchy commercial. Pritchett Closets needs to step it up if they want to stay in the game against their competitors. Jay and his daughter Claire decide to shoot their own ad, but the two of them clash due to creative differences.

Mitch and Cam are also facing problems of their own as their daughter Lily appears to be tone deaf. Despite this, she is required to perform at her school’s talent show and the situation is making Cameron very nervous. A seasoned performer himself, Cam is bothered by how Lily’s performance could turn out.

Elsewhere, after having been suspected of marrying each other in the last episode, Haley and Andy’s non-relationship becomes more complicated. Haley gets stricken with appendicitis and she is rushed to the emergency room. What role Andy plays in her ordeal will be revealed this Wednesday when episode 17 of “Modern Family” airs on ABC.
