In this week’s episode of the hit comedy series “Modern Family,” ABC offers a unique perspective on television production. The entire episode is shown from the computer screen as the cast members interact through Facetime or online video chat on Claire Dunphy’s (Julie Bowen) laptop.

Claire is stuck in an airport and she has a huge argument with her eldest daughter Haley. Haley storms off, and out of concern, Claire enlists the help of the rest of the family to find her. While she is helpless from miles away, Claire stays online so that she could communicate with the other family members.

Phil is the first person that Claire calls and she finds out that he’s been distracted by a new video game. He doesn’t even know where any of the children are. Claire tries to call Alex and discovers that she’s actually just behind Phil in the kitchen. Claire starts to panic when she sees that Phil isn’t under control of the house while she’s away. She then calls her dad Jay to ask if they know anything about Haley’s whereabouts. Even though they haven’t heard from Haley, Claire at least found out that Luke is at Jay and Gloria’s house.

While looking at her Facebook page, Claire sees that it’s her brother Mitchell’s birthday. After hanging up with Jay, she calls Mitch to greet him and to ask for information about Haley. The last time she was seen was while she was babysitting Lily the night before. Lily says she has no clue where Haley is either, except that she had been talking to her ex Dylan the night before.

Claire decides to use her fake profile to snoop on Haley’s Facebook page. She was shocked to see that Haley changed her status to married. Claire starts to suspect that Haley might have married Dylan. She calls Dylan but he says that he and Haley didn’t get married and he doesn’t know where she is either.

Claire logs into Haley’s iCloud account and tracks her iPhone. She is shocked to see that the phone is at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. This reinforces her theory that Haley got married but now they don’t know who the groom is. Jay then remembers that Andy “The Manny” borrowed his cufflinks and said that it's for a wedding.

It suddenly dawned on to everyone that Haley might have married Andy, so Claire starts to do a background check on Andy and tries to locate him. They are unable to contact Andy either. Things get more complicated when a package arrives for Haley. It turns out to be the book “What to Expect When you’re Expecting.” This makes everyone suspect that she got married because she is pregnant.

Jay then tells Claire that Andy is a good guy and she should know that in the end she will be thankful that her daughter ended up with a goofy nice guy just like her husband Phil. Claire apologises to Jay for eloping with Phil all those years ago and says she knows how it feels now that her daughter did the same thing.

While Claire and Jay are going through all their emotional drama, Haley calls Claire and says that she had actually just been sleeping in her room all day. It turns out she posted the status as a joke and she left her phone in Andy’s car. He drove the car to Las Vegas for a friend’s wedding, which is why it was tracked to that location. She also explained that the book was for her boss who is designing maternity clothes and wants to get in the mind of pregnant women. Now that everything has been settled, Claire finally logs off and gets on her flight home. More laughs are in store in the next episode of the Emmy Award-winning series “Modern Family,” which airs Wednesdays on ABC.
