“Modern Family” actress Ariel Winter has hit back at her body shamers after they posted derogatory comments under her photo on Instagram.

Winter became a target of lewd comments after she uploaded a photo of herself in a bikini. She is seen with her two nieces on a boat. The actress responded via a hard-hitting message posted on Instagram on Saturday. The actress posted a photo of a woman's leg marked with words such as “whore” and “prudish,” indicating the meaning of a shorter hemline length for haters.

“Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this? The height of a girl’s skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for. It sickens me to think at 17 years old, a photo of myself with my nieces is suggesting that I’m ‘asking for it,’” she wrote in the caption.

The actress stressed that she had enough of the body haters posting negative comments on Internet. According to Winter, girls who were constantly bullied should not allow haters to make them feel “less” about themselves, but they should celebrate their beauty.

“You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing-you are expressing yourself and don’t you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequences to what you are wearing,” she wrote.

Winter reminded girls that “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL” and “Us girls have to stick together!!!!!!”

Her post has garnered more than 45.9 thousand likes and various comments from her followers, praising the actress for taking a stand against body shamers.

One of her followers commented, “Yes. Good response. Sophisticated and admirable,” while another wrote, “Very cool for you to say and I agree. Are you stunning in that picture? Yes, but that in no way means you're asking for anything. Stand up, speak loud, and raise your voice.”

Earlier in November, Winter stood up for fellow actress Ariana Grande after she was called a “stick” in an online post.

The actress tweeted Grande saying, “Women should empower one another. Celebrate each other- you’re all beautiful.”

In July, Winter underwent a breast reduction surgery after she was unable to find clothes that would fit her body. Since then, the actress has been vocal about bullies and how she copes up with the negative comments that she continue to receive.

She told Glamour magazine in August that she always try to look confident to shake off the negativities around her.

“I definitely seemed confident; I’m an actress, that’s what we do. But on the inside, I wasn’t feeling so happy,” she said.
