MMVA 2014: Co-Hosts Kendall and Kylie Jenner Get Mixed Reviews on Their Debut Attempt, Get Bashed on Social Media [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
The Jenner sisters made their debut as co-hosts at the 25th MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVA) on Sunday in Toronto, Canada. More than their hosting abilities, it was Kendall's daring double-slit, underwear-free dress that got noticed at the gala event. According to various Web sites, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" sisters did a good job at hosting the event. Fans and critics of Kendall and Kylie have flooded social media writing/criticising their debut attempt.
According to Hollywoodlife.com, the Jenner sisters did an "amazing" job hosting the mega event. The gossip Web site has gone to extreme lengths to praise their hosting ability and said the sisters "were absolutely incredible on stage!"
"I've also got to say that I was impressed by how natural they both appeared—it can't be easy to take the stage in front of that many people on an outside stage in Toronto Canada!," writes Emily Longeretta on the Web site. The Web site also added that Kendall and Kylie were advised by their step sister Kim Kardashian to stay calm and have fun hosting the awards.
The Jenner sisters revealed the key to their confidence on stage lied in the fact that the two did not let the awards hosting get to their head and maintained their cool.
"We don't want to think too much about it. If we think too much about it, we'll get really nervous and work ourselves up. We're just relaxing and getting excited," Kendall revealed in an interview with CTV News before the event.
"We just want to make it fun. This is obviously our first time, and we're not perfect, so we just want to have fun with it and do the best we can," Kendall added, according to the Web site.
However, there were many critics on social media who believed the sisters did not do anything great as hosts.
"Kendall Jenner can't introduce an act let alone host an awards show," writes @ Kassidy_Stout on Twitter criticising the sisters.
"I hope Kendall Jenner learned how to read I don't know how she's gonna host an award show but I'll be praying," wrote @LiamOnTop on Twitter.

The Jenner sisters, however, were undoubtedly the best-dressed females on the red carpet of MuchMusic Awards. Kendall Jenner's double-slit, white Fausto Puglisi gown was the most talked about entity at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada as she had to go without underwear for the very revealing dress. The dress gave Angelina Jolie some really serious competition as it had double slits on both sides which started from her very high waist.
Kylie, too, looked gorgeous in a bright orange and golden dress which had sheer panel all throughout. However, her dress looked much more conservative as compared to her sister Kendall's daring outfit.
