Emily Kachote, a financial advisor, just lost her crown on Friday as Miss Zimbabwe 2015 which she won in April. She would no longer represent the African country in the Miss International competition in China later this year because of her viral nude photos.

The New York Daily News reports that organisers of the local beauty pageant cited the 25-year-old beauty queen’s “immoral behaviour.” They said that she breached her contract wherein she swore that she never posed nude or she would not do that if she won the crown.

In a statement, the organisers said, “Being in a relationship, sexual advance to anyone and any behaviour categorised as immoral by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust is grounds for instant disqualification and dethronement,” quotes News24.

The photos were taken before she joined the pageant when she went for sleep over and was drunk. It was posted online in May by her former boyfriend at a WhatsApp group, according to Herald. Kachote had admitted the woman in the pictures was herself.

“I have always suspected that those pictures would circulate but it happened a long time ago and I believe my past does not determine where I am going,” 234Pulse quotes Kachote. She thought the images would have been deleted by now, but it seems the guy just engaged in revenge porn since they have broke up a long time ago.

With the scandal, Kachote was forced to give up the title and crown in favour of runner-up Annie Grace Mutambu. It is the second year in a row that the beauty pageant was hit by a nude photo scandal. In 2014, Thabiso Phiri was also stripped of her title for the same reason.

Because of the two scandals in a row, a Herald reader asked online, “I wonder if they will even find a Miss Zimbabwe next year?” Besides the scandal, Kachote was also dissed by some locals for being “ugly.”

Mutambu will have sufficient time to prepare for the Miss World 2015 pageant which will be held in Sanya, China, at the Crown of Beauty Theatre on Dec 19. The reigning Miss World is Rolene Strauss of South Africa.
