Known for its mentality of "Beauty with a Purpose", the 2014 Miss World beauty pageant will kick once again with 77 confirmed contestants from all corners of the world who are striving for the prestigious title. The 64th edition of the Miss World pageant is scheduled to take place at ExCel London in London, England where reigning Miss World Megan Young from the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the annual event.

Registered as a charity and a non-profit organization associated with Miss World organization, Beauty with a Purpose together with reigning Miss World raises money and participates in humanitarian projects across all areas of the globe. The organization created by Julia Morley in 1972, managed to raise hundreds of millions of pounds to be donated in local and international organization who are in need to help disadvantaged children.

An oldest major surviving international beauty pageant, 2014 Miss World is scheduled on Dec. 14, 2014 where the winner will spends a year travelling to represent the organization and its numerous causes. 2013 Miss World Megan Young was the first Filipina to be crowned as Miss World last September 28, 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.

"Aside from winning, it also has a lot of meaning to me. All that hard work that I put into it was really paid off. But aside from that, before I always wonder, what is my purpose? What am I going to do in future with my life," revealed Young during her first official interview when she was asked what winning the Miss World title meant to her.

"And then during that night from Miss World, I just knew from that moment on what I wanted to pursue. I knew that I could use my skills, my voice and my knowledge to help people and that really means a lot to me," she added.

This year's pageant is expected to have 130 contestants to compete for the title, but only 77 are confirmed as of this time. Here are the 77 countries and their representatives for the 2014 Miss World beauty pageant taken from Miss World Web site.
