More than a month before the live broadcast of Miss Universe 2014 on NBC and Telemundo, the trailer of the pageant was published on YouTube on Dec. 19, 2014, and the 112-second clip noticeably has several Filipinos in it.

Among others, shown in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant trailer are some Filipino home viewers applauding, Miss Universe runners-up from the Philippines Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida, and the Filipino flag before it asks, “Who will be the next Miss Universe?”

For the past five years, candidates from the Philippines consistently landed a spot at the top five although they are yet to bring home the Philippines’ third Miss Universe crown following Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran’s victory in 1969 and 1973 respectively.

Jointly owned by “The Celebrity Apprentice” star Donald Trump and NBC Universal, the Miss Universe Organization will have its 63rd annual Miss Universe Pageant coronation night on Jan. 25 at the FIU Arena in Doral, Fla.

Among the judges during the Miss Universe 2014 pageant coronation night, is the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, who is currently the only eight-division world champion. He will be joined by reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, fashion journalist and TV host Louise Roe and TV host and shoe designer Kristin Cavallari.

Set to pass her crown to Miss Universe 2014 is reigning Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler of Venezuela. The pageant will be hosted by Thomas Roberts and Natalie Morales with Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up, who is from the Philippines, as the On The Scene insider. Watch the pageant trailer here:
