Ikumi Yoshimatsu of Japan, Miss International 2012, will crown her successor at the end of the Miss International 2013 pageant. This is the 53rd edition of the Miss International that will be held Dec. 17 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall, Tokyo, Japan with 77 delegates around the world.

Miss International is one of big four international beauty pageants along with the other three, including Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Earth.

The contest is organized for the purpose of "friendship and goodwill between all nations of the world" through international exchange. Since then, it has advanced cultural exchange on a broad scale by carrying out international activities under the slogans of "achieving world peace through mutual understanding" and "proper understanding of Japan in international society."
