Microsoft's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL might come equipped with a new type of mobile device security system. Instead of using finger prints to unlock smartphones, Microsoft has reportedly found a way for users to do so by merely looking at their screens.

The fact the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will exit their boxes with Windows 10 isn’t surprising. News about the devices' Windows Hello feature is one of the things that’s kept avid Microsoft device users at the edge of their seats.

CNET reported that Windows Hello uses biometric technology that allows users to log into their devices by only using their eyes. The units' iris recognition feature is first activated when users register their eyes by using the front camera. The device is able to differentiate a user's unique facial characteristics from other persons by the simple act of a user staring straight at the camera.

This is made possible by Microsoft's new processor -- one that the company previously obtained from Intel -- and a depth sensing camera. The camera depends on the unit's infrared capabilities to identify a user's facial features.

The phone will flash the smartphone owners' name at the top portion of the display, and say something like "Hello, Athena”. This greeting confirms the log in process was successful.

Both the Lumia 950 and 950 XL boast of amazing features. They both sport large and sharp screen displays; a USB Type-C charging ports that CNET has reviewed; a removable battery, as well as a slot for a MicroSD card.

Camera-wise, the devices have a 20 megapixel photo taker expected to entice multiple shutterbugs. Since the devices will run on Windows 10, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL users will get the special opportunity to use apps originally created for laptop and tablet use.

Plus, they can also easily pick up their smartphones and work on another Windows 10 enabled computer.
