The lukewarm response to Windows 8 has prompted Microsoft to leave no stone unturned to make its Windows 10 work as expected. Needless to say, the Windows 8 is one of the not-so-successful operating system versions for the Redmond headquartered company. A recent update made on the Microsoft Windows blog states that a whopping 1.5 million plus users have registered for "Windows Insider" program. Plus, a total of 450,000 of them are "highly active" users on Windows 10.

It is worth mentioning that, the reported 450,000 active users are testing Windows 10 preview version. And this is the highest in the history of Microsoft's other preview or beta programs. Notably, Microsoft's Windows 10 team is excited to see tremendous response from active users of the preview version. This is mainly because, the company is able to fix quite a lot of bugs encountered and reported by the users/testers, prior to rolling out the final version of Windows 10, according to BGR.

Gabe Aul of Microsoft says, "The reports you [Windows 10 Preview users/testers] send us, both from automated things like crash logs and manually via the Windows Feedback app, are helping us shape the product."He further quoted his favourite bug discovered by a preview user, which would have otherwise been impossible to catch with the test automation scripts and by any other means. Notably, the aforesaid bug occurs only in selected circumstances, where the OneDrive icon in File Explorer can be substituted by the Outlook icon. Apparently, this is one of the bugs fixed by Microsoft, thanks to the Windows Insider program tester.

Microsoft blog post also notes that, aside from the user feedback reports, the company has also fixed the frequently occurring blue-screen problem in Windows-powered devices. Moreover, several users were encountering user mode crashes with the earlier builds - 9841, 9860 and 9879. And this problem has also been reportedly fixed.

On the other hand, Microsoft has fixed a total of roughly 1,300+ bugs predominantly discovered and reported by Insiders. Interested readers can test the software by opting for the Windows Insider program and the next build of Windows 10 is scheduled to be released in early 2015.
