Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of 2017 and the year 2017 itself is going to be a big one for Microsoft. A number of Surface devices are expected to be released this year including the Surface Phone. Moreover, the world is also waiting for the Microsoft Windows 10 Creators Update that will bring in some excellent features. Fresh reports on the Surface Pro 5 have revealed their take on the specs and features of the device. An immense amount of expectation is riding on the device.

According to Tech Times, people expect big things from Microsoft Surface Pro 5 mainly because the company skipped any upgrade to the Surface Pro 4 device. Moreover, it is also offering the Pro 4 at great discounts, suggesting a Surface Pro 5 launch soon. There are some big improvements on the cards and one of them is an upgraded Touch Screen panel that will operate more fluidly and accurately with both hands and the Surface Pen. A resolution bump to 4K is also very much possible.

A spring 2017 release is most likely for the Surface Pro 5 device as it will correspond with the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update. This will also result in a more balanced release schedule for Microsoft as it is expected to release the Surface Book updates in fall. As per a patent, Microsoft applied for a year ago, the Surface Pen could be made wirelessly rechargeable. However, it is not yet known whether Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will have the upgraded Surface Pen.

A report of Forbes has claimed that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will most likely go with the Intel Kaby Lake architecture as the processors have now been made available and they provide considerable speed and graphics improvement. Kaby Lake chipsets will also help in overcoming Surface Pro’s biggest drawback, its battery. Moreover, as the 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Pro have been criticised for using only USB Type-C ports, Surface Pro 5 may keep one USB 3.0 port along with the Type-Cs.
