Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is a highly-innovative device from the maker of Windows. However, there’s another device in town, the Huawei MateBook. It will be interesting to see whether the MateBook comes even close to what Surface Pro 4 offers to its users.

In terms of display and screen, the Surface Pro 4 scores more than the Huawei MateBook. Even though both have a 12-inch screen, the Surface Pro 4 sports a higher resolution of 2736 x 1824 compared to Huawei MateBook’s 2160 x 1440. It’s about 20 percent bigger and clearer. This does not mean that MateBook’s clarity is bad.

The Huawei MateBook is powered by 3.1GHz dual-core Intel Core M 6th Gen processor whereas the Surface Pro 4 sports a 6th Generation Intel Core m3, i5, or i7 chipset. As per Mobile & Apps, the MateBook’s processor somewhat limits its abilities, especially in terms of video editing applications. The Surface Pro 4 is better in processor terms.

The processor limitations of the Huawei MateBook, it has been given an Intel HD Graphics 515 IGD. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4’s i7 variant has the Iris IGD or Intel HD 540. Hence, in terms of graphics performance, Surface Pro 4 has a clear advantage. The MateBook is not meant for gaming. It is perfect for everyday use.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 price in Australia starts at $1,214 and goes up to $3,779. Users can choose from seven price options depending on the specs they want. It’s a pricey tablet compared to the Huawei MateBook. The MateBook price starts at $699 (AU$949), writes CNET.

Huawei MateBook’s M5 variant is a good option for those who want good specs for everyday use whereas the i7 variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is great for heavy-duty functions such as video gaming and video editing.
