Microsoft revealed additional details on the Windows 10 editions on May 13 and as per the company, Windows 10 is coming this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages. Different Windows 10 editions are suited for various categories of devices and the different versions address specific needs of the customers, be it consumers, small or large enterprises, according to reports.

Windows 10 will power smartphones, PCs, tablets, Microsoft HoloLens, Xbox One and Surface Hub, Microsoft says through its blog post. Customers can find, try and purchase Windows apps from the Windows Store, says the blog post. As per the company’s blog post, the different versions of Windows 10 include Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Education and Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise.

Windows 10 Home is a consumer focused desktop edition suitable for tablets, PCs and 2-in-1s, as per the blog post. This version will be available with an OS that will have support for Windows Universal apps, Windows Hello facial, finger recognition software, the Edge browser and besides that voice assistant, Cortana will be made available to certain geographic locations, reports India Today.

Windows 10 Mobile is suited for smartphones, tablets and it has the same new universal Windows apps that are included in Windows 10 Home. This version offers more productivity, security and management abilities for personal mobile devices and it also allows new devices to take advantage of Continuum for phone, which lets users use their phone like a PC when connected to a larger screen, as mentioned by Microsoft, in its blog post.

Another version includes Windows Pro that is available with tools for connecting with cloud services and managing mobile devices, reports India Today. With Windows 10 Pro, users can take advantage of the new Windows Update for Business that helps in reducing management costs, offers faster access to security updates, controls over update deployment and allows access to latest innovation from Microsoft on a continuous basis, as per the blog post.

Windows 10 Enterprise is suitable for medium and large sized organizations and it also provides advanced capabilities that protect devices from growing security threats. This version supports a wide range of options for operating system deployment and comprehensive device and application management. Windows 10 Enterprise is for those users willing to buy volume licences, as mentioned in the blog post.

Windows 10 Education that builds on Windows 10 Enterprise is meant for schools and academic institutions and will be available through academic volume licensing. Even Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise, which is designed for business customers on smartphones and small tablets, will be available to volume licensing customers, as shared by Microsoft in the blog post.
