Keeping its promise to support competing mobile platforms, Microsoft announced Word Flow, its Windows Phone keyboard for iPhones. By putting up a new sign in page, the tech giant, on Thursday announced its plans to bring in Word Flow to iOS devices.

Earlier this month, Microsoft released a third-party Hub keyboard for iOS. This new keyboard could prove to be helpful for those iPhone or iPad users, who also make use of Microsoft's Office 365.

Just like on Windows Phone, the iOS keyboard will feature swipe-based typing, automatic word corrections, customised keyboard backgrounds with own image and come with support for word prediction technology.

One of the most interesting features of the iOS keyboard is the single-handed mode.

The iOS keyboard will reportedly have an arc-shaped design enabling both right-handed and left-handed people to use it. The unique arc-shaped design will allow single handed typing as it works from both sides of the device.

“Our app is currently in a closed beta release, which means we want to get it just right before we open it up to everyone,” reads the official Microsoft website.

For those are interested in testing Word Flow for iOS, Microsoft has started accepting registrations for the beta program.

Back in February, Microsoft acquired Swiftkey, one of the most popular keyboard apps on iOS and Android.

In related news, Google is also believed to introduce third-party keyboards for iOS devices. The Google keyboard for iOS will reportedly come with a variety of search options along with separate buttons for image and GIF searches.

Google’s iOS keyboard is also speculated to come with easy access to Google search. This means, users will just have to tap a Google logo on the keyboard to go to Google search.
