Microsoft had first revealed its Windows in the car concept during the Build developer conference last year. It was confirmed then - by way of a demonstration - that the car's screen can mirror whatever is shown on the screen of the smartphone, on the car's user-friendly interface.

Last year, it was not confirmed whether or not the users could get to interact with the car's system using their voices. Now, Microsoft has offically announced that its Windows in the car concept will be progressing with the addition of Cortana, as pointed out by The Verge.

Samuel Chen, the Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft Asia Pacific Research announced during the company's TechDays event - which was held in Taiwan - that the new Windows in the car concept can project Cortana onto the vehicle's windshield.

With this new Cortana integration feature, drivers can easily access the system on their windshield. They can use it to make restaurant reservations right on their windshield, or go around town and see tourist locations without getting lost.

Shen had previously revealed that similar products have not been launched "due to the high cost" they entail. "We hope to have further discussions with Taiwanese partners to jointly explore future possibilities," Shen stated, according to Taipei Times.

Clearly, Microsoft's efforts at further developing its car system have majorly progressed over the past year. Despite this, however, it would appear that the U.S.-based company is not yet ready to launch this new Windows 10 integration.

Microsoft has always come up with something different for each of the car manufacturers that it works with, such as Nissan, Ford, BMW, Fiat and Kia. Each and every one of these manufacturers has its own special version of Windows integrated into its system and interface. This means that no specific design or version was set as the standard.
