Microsoft Band 2 was recently leaked, and the first images show a wearable device with a sleek design and a curved display.

Spanish tech website Microsoft Insider leaked the alleged images of the Microsoft Band 2 just before the Redmond-based company's media event slated for October 6. It looks like the device will be unveiled alongside the Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and Surface Pro 4.

Microsoft has apparently opted to mostly stick to the general look and design of the original Band. There’s one very big difference, though. Keeping up with the times, the Band 2 will reportedly sport a curved display.

With this new screen technology for wearables, fitness tracking -- which happens to be one of the device's main features -- should become much easier. The curved screen design also gives Band 2 an aesthetic oomph, as pointed out by Tech Times.

Microsoft has also opted to add a metallic finish around the screen to give the Band 2 a more premium look. Several buttons were also added to the display's side to make device navigation even easier.

The device’s battery has been removed from the sides and transferred to its underbelly. The Band 2 will also be able to track the wearer’s elevation, which will make it a useful tool for climbers.

The Band 2 is also expected to launch with a pre-installed Microsoft Health app. This will sync the device with various operating systems such as Windows, Android and iOS. Through this, Band 2 users will be able to monitor their health information on a single interface.

It is worth noting that as of writing, Microsoft has not confirmed any of the reported specs of Band 2. The company is expected to reveal official details about the device on their press event next month.
