Michael Clarke, the former Australian cricket captain, received an early Christmas present from his wife Kyly Clarke when she gave birth to a premature baby girl last week. Kyly delivered at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital after undergoing an emergency caesarean. The couple expressed their delight through social media after the birth. Now, Michael is feeling lonely as his daughter is still in hospital under special care.

“Both Kyly and I are very happy and I wish our little girl was at home at our house but she’s in great hands and she’s being looked after well in hospital. It's obviously been a real special week for us, ” Clarke told Network Seven.

Channel Nine reported that the proud 34-year-old father is super-excited though Kyly delivered “a lot sooner” than he expected and it was quite a surprise.

Clarke spoke about daughter Kelsey Lee and wife Kyly after a press conference for a new waterfront home he recently bought. He told the media that his loving wife and daughter are both doing well.

Kyly, also 34, gave birth to baby Kelsey on Nov. 17, 2015. The couple announced that they were expecting back in July. After birth, both Michael and Kyly took to Instagram and shared a photo of his daughter’s tiny fingers wrapping his finger. He also announced his daughter’s name.

Clarke has also recently confirmed that in a recent development, he along with Kyly, has bought a four-bedroom terrace in Lake Macquarie. It has cost him approximately $1.38 million. The property is located at Trinity Point, a $388 million mixed-use marina development. It’s a 30 minutes drive from Newcastle and 90 minutes from Sydney.

This comes right after Clarke became a father and probably is a gift to his daughter Kelsey. When asked to comment on his new buy, he simply said that the Trinity Point location encouraged him to purchase the house.

“Trinity Point is going to become an absolute Sydney weekend hotspot — another Palm Beach or day trip destination but with more of a marina-lifestyle resort focus,” he said.

Clarke is already planning weekend trips and family holidays and hopes that the construction is completed soon.

The Clarkes are the first to book a plot in this new project which is being developed by Johnson Property Group.
