Metta World Peace, or the player formerly known as Ron Artest, likes the physicality of the games in the Venice Basketball League (VBL) in Venice, Italy where he is spending his NBA offseason.

The 34-year-old NBA veteran, who is famous for his toughness and physical play during his prime in the league, likes the experience so much that he keeps coming back to the Italian games despite what he describes as “aggressive ball”.

World Peace took to Twitter about his thoughts on Venice and basketball:

I am the only pro playing in Venice this summer? Its dangerous out there. I really dont know why i went back a third time

Although he has seen his share of physicality of basketball in the top basketball league in the world that didn’t stop World Peace from whining about wayward elbows and bruising bumps:

I dont mind aggressive ball, but anytime u get hit on the elbow or arm while shooting or hit driving to the basket or on top of the head.. — mettaworldpeace.com (@MettaWorldPeace) July 28, 2014

That should be a foul. I wouldn't advise any pros to go to Venice until the fix the rules. I would have quit but that ain't me. Ill b back!!

But as classic Ron Artest goes, he’s not backing down from anyone. He did ask for reinforcement via his social media account:

I actually need some ballers. Next sunday i have three extra jerseys. I need help on my team. They bullied my Highschool players. — mettaworldpeace.com (@MettaWorldPeace) July 28, 2014

I've never wrestled on a court five straight times as the ref watched. Really ref?

World Peace was drafted by the Chicago Bulls as the 16th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft and he was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2002. He also had stints with the Sacramento Kings (2006-2008) Houston Rockets (2008-2009), Los Angeles Lakers (2009-2013) and New York Knicks (2013-2014)

The time in Indiana produced what could be the worst moment in basketball history. Then known as Ron Artest, World Peace was one of the instigators in the “basketbrawl” between his team and the Detroit Pistons. Artest also attacked a fan in the stands that caused him to be suspended by the league for the rest of the season.

The last paragraph (and the accompanying video) can serve as a fair warning to the Venice ballers who will go up against World Peace in the coming days.
