Karl Sonnenberg, @TA4TV on Twitter, was asked: "Hello Karl, do you know when you'll be done filming the season 7 of #TheMentalist please ? Do you have a date already ? Thanks."

"Hi. December 19th," comes the response. Karl is "Police/Medical Technical Advisor for The Mentalist."

Actress Josie Loren, who joins The Mentalist Season 7 as a series regular (as reported by TV Line), has some filming updates of her own on Twitter:

"Happy halloween y'all! Spending mine on the set of @Mentalist_CBS but still feel so lucky to be here w/ this RIDICULOUS cast & crew!Be safe!"

Loren is playing the role of FBI newbie Michelle Vega. Fans will see how Simon Baker's Patrick Jane deals with this new character. On forum sites, fans are wondering whether Jane will show less of his skepticism now that he is officially in a romantic relationship with Robin Tunney's Teresa Lisbon.

Those wondering whether The Mentalist Season 7 will be the last chapter from the CBS series might want to read some of Tim Kang's Twitter updates in September:

Sept. 14 (1): "Really miss @OYeoman and @AmandaERighetti for this final leg of our journey."

Sept. 14 (2): "I'll do my best to document this last season."

Sept. 14 (3): "All y'all are the best fans and friends we could have!! I gotta say it makes doing what we do, that much more satisfying."

[Rigsby and Van Pelt (Owain Yeoman and Amanda Righetti, respectively) left The Mentalist in Season 6 although they were welcome to join the FBI with Jane, Lisbon, Cho, and Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar).]

Based on Kang's Twitter response alone, The Mentalist Season 7 is not likely to air this year. Based on a filming update from Sonnenberg, filming is likely to wrap up before 2015. These do not guarantee the series is ending, but many fans think Kang's September tweets are indeed farewell messages.
