Many travelled from far and away just to be able to witness the last send off to the music icon, Whitney Houston. Even if majority of the fans were maintained to stay at a certain distance from the New Hope Baptist Church, they still waited patiently from a far to give their respects.

Numerous fans camped out even before dawn just to witness the entire funeral to transpire. Fans were all controlled with police barricades as per the decision of the Houston family. Many of Whitney's supporters believed that it was not the right decision for the family to keep all the loving fans away from this last moment of saying goodbye to their idol.

From the most popular personalities and down to the most common of people, everyone was there to big Whitney goodbye. And after all the eulogies done and the songs and performances delivered by close friends in the industry, all emotions broke loose when it was Whitney Houston's voice that was heard all over, singing her biggest hit ever, "I Will Always Love You."

When her mixed silver and gold casket was lifted up to be carried, it became too unbearable for Cissy Houston, the music icon's mother. Whitney's own daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was also in uncontrollable sobs and was seen comforted by Ray J.

The sides of Houston being such a popular music icon and also a simple New Jersey girl were revealed and remembered during the four-hour funeral service. Other stars spotted during the sad event were Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, amongst many others.

The service started showing pictures of Whitney since she was a child and up to the final years of her life. She is set lay rest beside her father in Westfield, N.J.
