Joan Rivers left daughter and grandchild a sizeable estate. While the amount is no paltry sum, this does not make up for her untimely death and lessen the grief that her family is going through.

Melissa Rivers is set to inherit $75 million in cash, $35 million Upper East Side Condo and other properties. Grandchild Cooper, 13, is also set to have his own inheritance, US Weekly reports. The exact amount that the teen would inherit is unclear, but since Joan Rivers' net worth was estimated to be around $150 million when she died, Cooper Rivers is most likely to receive around $40 million.

However, the inheritance does nothing to assuage the pain of losing Joan. "[The inheritance is] no consolation losing her mother so soon," a close friend to the family shared to Page Six. Aside from her daughter and grandchild, Joan also made sure her pet dogs would receive the care they need even without their beloved owner.

"I knew she made sure to leave very clear provisions for all of them; it struck me that in our world today, dogs have become accepted as such essential family members that providing for them well in life, and after death, is considered quite normal, whereas not that many years ago it would have been considered eccentric to mention children, grandchildren and dogs in the same context," shared Joan Rivers' goddaughter, Tracie Hotchner to Mail Online. "She loved her dogs dearly, and they meant so much to her because with her hectic lifestyle of travel and performances, her pooches were her touchstone to normalcy and genuine affection - just as they are for the rest of us!"

It seems that the E! legendary figure was on top of everything in her life that she made sure her passing would not disrupt the life of anyone. The talk show host, comedienne, and author, passed away on September 4 because of complications suffered from an outpatient surgery on August 28 at Yorkville Endoscopy. She was undergoing routine throat surgery when she stopped breathing and went into coma. She died a week after.
