Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is featuring the six most popular international masterchefs from all over the world during its Food and Wine Festival this year.

According to NZHerald.co.nz, the six "Stars of Spice" will present a menu of signature dishes in Crown Towers’ premium restaurants including Nobu and Number 8.

The idea said NZHerald.co.nz is to let the patrons to ‘enjoy the world cuisine on your plate in one venue’.

The six stars of spice are coming from different countries around the world including India, Peru, Indonesia, Japan and China.

London-based Atul Kochhar will be a guest presenter at the festival. Known for his re-invention of Indian cuisine for his Mayfair restaurant in Benares, Kochhar is the first Indian to be awarded of a Micheline star. The Indian chef, added NZHerald.co.nz will be getting his second star.

The second chef to take part in the festival is Pedro Miguel Schiaffino from Peru. He rose to fame for his signature dishes exploring on new frontiers of taste and complement it with his unique dishes that use unusual fruits, grains, tubers and spices. Referred to most often as the ‘jungle chef’ is based in Lima, Peru said NZHerald.co.nz.

The third international materchef is Chris Salans, who will be representing for his award-winning Mozaic restaurant in Bali, Indonesia. Salans said, NZHerald.co.nz will be joining Kochhar and Schiaffino in hosting a series of "star" cooking class. The organizers of the festival have aimed at providing a great venue for committed ‘foodies’ in bringing the acquired taste at home.

Meanwhile, the NZHerald.co.nz has enumerated the three other international masterchefs to join the first three stars of spice including, Jun Yukimura and Toshiro Konishi from Japan and Liu Yun of China. Yukimura said NZHerald.co.nz is a three-time Michelin star winner while his fellow Japanese, Konishi is based in Peru where he has popularized blending traditional high-end Kaiseki cuisine. Liu Yun is based in Beijing and known as the master in Sichuan cooking.

The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is slated from March 3 to March 11.
