Meizu M1 Note Mini release date is set to Jan. 28. Also known as the Blue Charm, the new Meizu smartphone will come out to take on the feature-rich budget smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 2. The news about the official release date of the handset was proclaimed by Meizu through its official Weibo account.

The Meizu M1 Note Mini is said to be the sibling of the M1 Note that was released in December last year. According to PhoneArena, the M1 Note Mini has a 5-inch display screen supporting HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It will be powered by a MediaTek constructed 64-bit processor.

The handset is expected to be available with a price tag of around $100. Hence, it is being talked as a competitor for Redmi 2 as it features a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor. The device will be running on Flyme OS (a modified version of Android OS).

On Jan. 28, Meizu is also expected to unveil a new payment system, fitness tracking product like a smartwatch and smart home devices. Meizu News says that by introducing a new payment system, users of MX4 Pro will be able to use the fingerprint scanner for making payments. Meizu may launch a fitness product like the Xiaomi Mi Band. If the company is not going to unveil a smartwatch, it may new fitness app.

The Meizu M1 Note that came out in December 2014 features a IGZO 5.5-inch display. It looks very similar to the Apple iPhone 5C. It is a full HD display supporting 403 ppi and is powered by MediaTek chipset with octa-core Cortex A53 processor and Mali=T760 graphics. The SoC is coupled with 2 GB RAM. It features a 13 MP dual LED flash camera and 5 MP selfie camera. It is packed with a massive battery of 3140 mAh.
