Megan Fox has reportedly filed for divorce from husband, Brian Austin Green, officially ending their five years of marriage. This news comes hot on the heels of separation reports.

The actress is asking for a joint physical and legal custody of their two sons, Noah Shannon, 2, and Bodhi Ransom, 18 months, TMZ reported. The two have decided to legally separate due to “irreconcilable differences,” according to the documents submitted in the court by Fox’s attorney, Laura Wasser.

As there is no prenuptial agreement, Fox and Green’s earnings and assets gained during their five years of marriage will be split into equal half, a source said.

Moreover, Fox is likely to pay spousal support to her husband because of disparity in their income and also Brian’s medical problems in the past. TMZ reported that the divorce is “very amicable,” and the two continue to stay under the same roof even after the decision to separate.

It was last Wednesday that Us Weekly reported that the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” actress, despite being in love with Brian, has decided to separate from Green, and this decision was made six months ago. And, in a People magazine’s report, a source close to the two said, “Megan and Brian have decided to separate… They will always love each other very much and are devoted to their kids.”

Fox, 29, and Green, 42, who first met on the set of ABC’s sitcom “Hope & Faith” in 2004, had been together for almost 11 years. They tied the knot in 2010 in Hawaii, just 24 days after Brian’s second proposal. Their last public appearance together was in June -- they were seen having lunch together in Beverly Hills.

The other celebrity couples who have separated this year are: Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton; Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale; Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick; Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner; Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk; and Suki Waterhouse and Bradley Cooper.
