New Zealand has finally taken the plunge and has come up with its own version of “The Bachelor.” The popular dating reality show debuted on TV3 on Wednesday, March 17. In the first episode of “The Bachelor NZ,” 21 bachelorettes were seen vying for the attention of Arthur Green, the businessman from Auckland.

Who Is Arthur Green? This handsome man, 26, runs a company called Clean Paleo with his friends. According to his profile page, his friends describe him as someone who is fun, funny, active, positive, happy-go-lucky and chilled. Like all the bachelors on all the other versions of “The Bachelor,” he is also ready to find love.

Green is looking for a woman who has a great sense of humour and is active like him. Plus, she should be confident and he loves the intellectual kind. He would not mind if the love of his life is smarter than him. ‘Great eyes’ may make him fall in love at first sight, as he has been quoted as saying to Stuff.co.nz that he is “really drawn to beautiful eyes.” Previously, he was in a relationship for five years.

The host of “The Bachelor NZ,” Mike Puru, calls Green a “really nice guy.” He has said to Stuff.co.nz that the Kiwi bachelor is confident, clever and charming and is not a douche-bag. Puru also said, “And, as a gay man, I find him very attractive. I'll be lining up for a rose, if I can!"

According to Stuff.co.nz’s report, the most challenging thing for Green has been public display of affection (PDA) on the show. The report has quoted him as saying, "I don't like PDAs so I reckon that's been the most challenging thing.” Green knows that signing on a reality show to find love is not what men normally do, but according to him he has not been in a “position to find someone” after his long-term relationship ended a couple of years ago.

In the premiere episode of “The Bachelor NZ, Matilda received the first red rose of the competition. At the end of episode 1, three girls did not receive the red rose from Green while one of the girls, Rosie, quit the show because the whole experience did not feel right to her.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Danielle Le Gallais, the mother of two, who was the recipient of the second red rose before the rose ceremony, has a criminal past. Almost a decade ago in 2005, she was reportedly sentenced to 18 months in prison. According to Yahoo NZ report, she was convicted of stealing around $40,000 from her employer.
