Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao Fight In 2015 According To Bob Arum, But Pacquiao Won’t Waste Time For Mayweather
The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight can finally come true sometime in the spring of 2015, according the Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum.
Showtime and HBO have been dying to make the fight possible and "they can find a way to promote and satisfy both sides from a legal basis," Arum said in an article on Manila Bulletin.
"With Showtime wanting the fight and HBO wanting it and Manny and Top Rank wanting the fight, there is one little step to take and that's to see where Floyd stand and we're optimistic that this time, Floyd will bite the bullet and do the fight on equitable terms," said the 82-year-old Top Rank boss.
Previously, Arum was pretty convinced that a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight is impossible to happen but recently, he received information that changed the tides.
Arum remains optimistic that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will happen soon noting that Las Vegas and Arlington, Texas were the two suitable locations for the most anticipated fight.
Pacquiao thinks that the American undefeated will finally succumb to the pressure from Showtime.
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao will be all over the world to promote his fight with Chris Algieri on Nov. 23 in Macau's Cotai Arena.
According to the Filipino boxer, Algieri might be the fittest and smartest athlete he will ever face.
Algieri might really be one of the book-smart fighters in boxing as he holds Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management and Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition, which is pretty uncommon in the boxing realm.
On the other hand, when asked about the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach said that they can't waste their time waiting for the American boxer.
"We've done everything we could to make that fight happen. It's like, we're available if he's interested in it, but again we can't sit around waiting for him," Roach told AFP as reported by Yahoo Sports.
In 2010, the people behind the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight was close to agreeing to a clash but the plan, which could have generated $300 million dollars in pay-per-view fell through because Mayweather was unhappy with Pacquiao's drug testing procedures.
