Thousands of "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans are strongly against "Sons of Anarchy" actor Charlie Hunnam as handsome billionaire Christian Grey and they only want "White Collar" actor Matt Bomer for the part. An ongoing petition insists that Matt Bomer is the perfect Christian Grey and the 35-year-old actor expressed his gratitude towards the fans.

"I'm so grateful for the fans and touched," Mr Bomer said to Entertainment Tonight regarding the fans' FSOG petition. Author E.L. James has officially confirmed that actress Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam will portray the lead characters Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

Even though he did not get the much coveted Christian Grey role, the "White Collar" star still showed his support for the upcoming film. "I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota," Matt stated.

The FSOG fans were clearly disappointed with the author and the producers' choices and they decided to start the petition at Change.org to recast the "Fifty Shades of Grey" characters with Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel.

Currently, the petition has over 50,000 signatures and the message reads:

"Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING."

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting team continues to absorb the angry and negative reactions from fans on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr after making the important announcement on Monday, September 2. "To all the supporters, lovers and haters - thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you," the author wrote on her Twitter account @E_L_James in response to the backlash.

Producers Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca explained as well to the fans how they came up with the casting decision. "There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc. So if your favorite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective," Mr Brunetti stated.

Michael De Luca, on the other hand, whips up support for Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson as Christian and Ana by stating that the auditions for the two stars were "stunning and has incredible chemistry."

In the mean time, Matt Bomer will keep himself busy filming for the upcoming "White Collar" Season 5. "We're definitely embracing more of a bad boy version of Neal this year. Neal's starting to realize that he doesn't have to be a good boy all the time and that maybe not doing the right thing is what he's best at," Matt Bomer revealed.
