Christopher Yost has been selected to write the script of “Masters of the Universe” movie. The live-action movie is currently being developed, and new details confirm that He-Man’s archenemy Skeletor will be seen in the movie.

Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have selected Yost to rewrite the script of the upcoming movie, Variety reports. The previous drafts of the script are said to have been written by Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow.

Yost is known for writing the script of “Thor: The Dark World.” He has also been hired to write for “Thor: Ragnarok,” which will be released in 2017.

Yost has written for several animation TV shows, such as “Iron Man: Armored Adventures,” “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Variety has confirmed that Yost’s next movie will tell the story of a warrior named Prince Adam on the planet Eternia. The main villain in the movie will be Skeletor, who will seek to conquer Castle Grayskull to learn its secrets.

The power of Castle Grayskull helps Prince Adam transform into the powerful He-Man and his pet Cringer into his mount Battle Cat. The first picture of Battle Cat in the movie may have been shared by the President and CEO of Franklin Entertainment, DeVon Franklin via his Twitter feed.

Franklin did not confirm if the picture was of He-Man’s mount in the movie, but the fans shared their excitement on seeing the striking resemblance of the picture to the character from the animation series. In another tweet , Franklin said that he will have more details to share about the movie after the new chairman of Sony gets “in sync with the studio.”

He-Man was made popular by the cartoon series that aired in the 1980s. Since then, multiple iterations of the character have been seen in animation series. There was also a live-action movie of the character starring Dolph Lundgren.

The 1987 “Masters of the Universe” took place mostly on Earth, with He-Man and his companions arriving on the planet to find a way to counter Skeletor. Frank Langella played the role of the main villain, and the movie also featured Meg Foster as Evil-Lyn. As of writing, there are no announcements yet about the cast and release date of the upcoming movie from the franchise.
