As the culinary face-off goes down the wire, “MasterChef Junior” Season 5 offers the top 10 a brief respite. Instead, six former contestants who got booted off will have another shot to wear the coveted white apron again. Celebrity chef Richard Blais returns as the guest judge for the upcoming episode.

He, along with Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi, will determine the fate of the six young hopefuls via a chicken challenge. At the end of the episode, two young cooks will rule the roost, find their way back to the kitchen and compete for the title.

TV Guide reports that on the March 30 episode, six kids who were sent home earlier will be vying to get back into the game. They will be facing two challenges involving a popular meat: chicken. Each contestant has to break one apart and use the pieces to prepare a stunning dish, which would serve as their ticket back into the kitchen.

Fox offered a sneak peek of Thursday’s run and in the video [watch below], Chef Gordon tells the top 10 contenders that they won’t be cooking that day. The trailer shows Charlie, who announces that he’s back. In addition to him, Mashu, Gonzalo, Donovan, Jasmine and Syd also arrive for a second chance in the competition. These young cooks were eliminated in the last three episodes of the reality TV show.

On Episode 7, the top 12 were divided into four teams made of three contestants. The Blue Team were composed of Mark, Lila and Syd, while Afnan, Justise and Evan belonged to the the Brown Team. The Yellow Team got Peyton, Shayne and Cydney, while Jasmine, Avani and Adam found themselves in the Red Team.

The four groups were asked to make as many perfect pistachio pudding pies as they could. In the end, the Brown Team won with 14 pies. For their prize, Afnan, Justise and Evan got immunity and even got the chance to smash a pie on the judges’ faces. After the three young cooks made their way to the balcony, the remaining contestants were told about the elimination challenge.

To secure a spot in the top 10, each kid was asked to make an appetizer, entrée or dessert that uses a blow-torch within 45 minutes. Avani impressed the judges with his chocolate ganache tart with graham cracker crust and caramelized pecans and bananas, which was declared the winning dish. Meanwhile, Jasmine, Mark, Syd and Shayne landed in the bottom and in the end, Jasmine and Syd were sent home.
